Book a Free Beginners Martial Arts taster class

At our Basingstoke Martial Arts club, we offer a free no obligation taster session for you to experience our classes. To book your free taster session please choose between the Childrens classes and the Adults classes.

What happens after I book my free taster class?

Once you’ve chosen the class, you’ll get a confirmation sent to you. One of our team will then reach out to you to answer any questions that you may have and also to check for any medical information that we may need. When you arrive for the taster class, you or your child will meet members of our coaching team and join the class for your age. You will take part in a normal lesson at a comfortable pace, with no pressure to join afterwards. Parents and carers are welcome to watch, see how our coaches work with the children and ask any questions. The free taster gives you the opportunity to experience Shin Gi Tai before deciding whether we are the right club for you or your child.





The class was fun, engaging and challenging at the same time! I love doing the class with other women, I feel like we all motivate each other! I also like that the teachers actually pay attention to people with injuries, it is something you don't find easily, and it is the first time I feel like I can do the class while looking after my body at the same time and doing it to my own pace (I've got a few chronic injuries that keep flaring up every so often). Can't wait for next week!

Is it really free?

Yes, your taster class is completely free, with no obligation to join. It gives you or your child the chance to experience our coaching, classes and atmosphere.

We can answer your questions and explain the membership options and next steps. You don’t need to decide on the day.

What should I wear to the class?

Wear comfortable clothes without zips or hard fastenings, such as a T-shirt with shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms.

Bring a drink and remove watches and jewellery before training. If a ring or earrings cannot be removed, let us know so we can provide tape.

Can I watch my family member?

Absolutely. Parents and carers are encouraged to watch their children’s lessons. Adult beginners can also bring family or friends.

Our two comfortable, air-conditioned viewing areas have a coffee machine and vending machine.

How long is the class?

Classes last between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on the age group.

Can anyone do a class?

We adapt our coaching for different abilities, learning styles, communication needs and confidence levels. Suitability depends on the individual, programme and support required.

Please discuss any support needs with us before booking so we can recommend a suitable class and discuss reasonable adjustments.
