Class Timetable

Martial Arts Black Belts in Basingstoke

In order to maximise the learning for all of our members, we follow this system.

You cannot arrive for a class at the club without registering for it, to ensure that we keep to the numbers that are allowed in the dojo/kwoon to train.

  1. Parents and carers are welcome to stay and watch classes, in fact we encourage you to watch your children to support us in their progression.
  2. On a regular basis we provide ‘open weeks’ where parents/carers can come and join their children on the mats to understand what they are learning and how to help them become better.
  3. This timetable is effective from 8th October 2026
  4. There are no classes on a Bank Holiday
  5. If you miss a class, please contact the office and they’ll arrange a catch up class for you.

Basingstoke Martial Arts Timetable FAQs

Which class should I book as a beginner?

All our classes at Shin Gi Tai in Basingstoke welcome beginners. You do not need previous Martial Arts experience before starting.

For children, we recommend the appropriate age group based on their date of birth. For adults, the best choice depends on what you would like to achieve and the type of training you enjoy:

  • Tai Chi: Gentle exercise using slow, smooth movements to develop balance, coordination and relaxation.
  • Adult Martial Arts: A combined Karate, Judo and Kung Fu syllabus offering a broad range of skills, fitness training and structured progression.
  • Ladies Only Kickboxing: A welcoming class exclusively for women, combining Kickboxing skills with fitness and confidence building.
  • Muay Thai: A more demanding workout with plenty of pad and bag work, developing striking skills and cardiovascular fitness.

If you are unsure where to begin, speak to our coaching team and we will help you choose a suitable taster class.

How often should I attend?

We expect members to train at least twice each week. Regular practice helps you remember what you have learned, develop new skills and make steady progress.

If you are particularly keen, or would like to train more as you progress, you can add further classes. Our coaches will help you choose suitable sessions for your age, experience and goals.

Do I need to book before attending?

Yes. If you are new to Shin Gi Tai, please book a taster class before attending.

This allows us to recommend the right session and collect relevant information about your medical history, injuries or any additional needs our coaches should be aware of. Knowing this beforehand helps us prepare for your visit and support you appropriately.

Contact our team to arrange your free taster class.

Do classes run during school holidays?

Yes. Our Basingstoke classes run throughout the year, including most school holidays, with two planned breaks: two weeks in the summer and two weeks over Christmas.

The summer break is generally at the beginning of August. The Christmas break usually starts a few days before Christmas and continues into the New Year.

Exact closure dates are confirmed each year. Please check the latest academy notices or contact our team before making plans around these periods.

Where are the classes held, and can I park?

All the classes on this timetable take place at our dedicated Basingstoke academy:

Shin Gi Tai Martial Arts Academy
Unit A, Daneshill Central
Armstrong Road
Basingstoke
RG24 8NU

Parking is available directly in front of the academy and along the left-hand side of the building before the Hertz yard. Additional on-street parking is available nearby. Please check signs and park considerately.
