Dear members, coaches, volunteers and family members,

We want to update you on our current situation regarding Covid-19 and the precautions that we have been and are taking. We are closely monitoring all current government advice and will continue to do so and update you as things change. We would like to reassure you that we have and are taking extra measures to ensure all our equipment and facilities are deep cleaned to maintain good hygiene. We will also be adapting lesson plans to minimise close physical contact between class participants.

The health of our members, coaches, volunteers and their family members is our priority. We are currently running all classes as timetabled with a proactive approach that minimised disruption. We would also like to reassure you that we are taking extra measures to ensure all our equipment and facilities are deep cleaned to maintain good hygiene. We will also be adapting lesson plans to minimise close physical contact between class participants.

How you can help us:

  • Please ensure everyone washes their hands upon entering our facility, both class participants and any accompanying family members.
  • Please ensure all uniforms are washed after each class and personal safety equipment is sanitised after use. (we have wipes by the mats to use if you don’t have any)
  • Please ensure all water bottles are named and children understand not to share water bottles.
  • Please ensure you bring all your own equipment to class and that it is all named to avoid mix ups. During this time we not be ‘lending’ any equipment to people who have forgotten theirs, nor will we be using focus pads.

If you are unwell please follow government guidelines and self-isolate, please do not come to class if you are unwell. We always offer a make up class policy which you are welcome to do once you are better.

Please make your own risk assessment before coming to class, particularly if you are vulnerable due to age or underlying health conditions.

We are currently evaluating different options for training including limiting the number of attendees and having a ‘gap’ between classes, In the event that government guidance is to close our facilities we are also looking at on-line at home learning.

We are very much a community based club and care about all of our members, their families and the wider community. If we can offer help or support to anyone in need in these difficult times, please let us know. We hope you all remain well over the coming weeks or months.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Best wishes, the SGT team
